August Blog: Foundations of Hope: Hive Homes Rising

It’s August, and while the heat rises, so does the heart of our work. Hive Homes is coming to life—brick by brick, frame We’ve been hard at work on the first two Hive Homes in Harrisburg. The framing is complete, subflooring is in place, Evictions are still rising in Central PA.

- Dauphin County: Over 28,800 eviction filings since 2020.

- York County: Nearly 1 in 5 renters are severely cost-burdened.

- Cumberland County: While median incomes are higher, rent burden still impacts 1 in 4 renters.

Housing insecurity doesn’t discriminate, but it does disproportionately impact communities of color. That’s why Beahive We recently welcomed volunteers from across Harrisburg—including young adults from local youth programs—who These homes aren’t just structures. They’re promises—of peace, of safety, of a future.
