Beahive Closet: Make Your Hive a Home!

We are excited to introduce the Beahive Closet to our clients on March 9! The Beahive Closet will provide a peaceful store-like setting where clients can shop for new and gently used home goods to help them transition into their new homes.

When you're recovering from a life-changing event, it can be hard to think about the little things.

Ten years ago, Beahive’s founder's home caught on fire and her family was displaced for a few months, before finding a new place to live. They received a lot of help from the community to help furnish their new home, which assisted with the transition.

We do not think about the additional expenses incurred when moving into a new space, especially when recovering from a life-changing event. Affordable housing for Dauphin County and surrounding counties residents is our focus, however, we want to provide the added support of helping our clients "Make their Hive their home".

The vision for the Beahive Closet grew out of the helpless feeling that the founder felt during those few months after being displaced. Our goal is to empower families during their transition and remove the helpless feeling even with something that may seem small to those never in that situation. Being able to choose the items that are “you” and that will make “your” hive “your” home will be an option.

We will have a quarterly “Make Your Hive a Home” networking event and the admission is simply to bring a gently used or new home good item. Our first event is on February 9th from 5 pm to 7 pm EST at the District Bar and Lounge.

Join us as we collect gently used or new items such as:

  • Sheets

  • Blankets

  • Towels/ Washcloths

  • Decor (statues/portraits)

  • Throw Pillows/Rugs

  • And more….

Donations are tax-deductible, and as a thank you, you can enjoy networking with a free specialty drink ticket and appetizers. Come make a difference and enjoy the ambiance of the District Bar & Lounge.

We appreciate the community’s support, but due to limited space, we will not be collecting drop-off items, outside of our networking events. We can accept gift cards or donations through PayPal.

Be sure to join our mailing list to be notified of the next date of the quarterly event "Make Your Hive a Home" Networking event. Also, let us know if you have an interest in volunteering to be a part of what we are trying to do at the Beahive!

Let us know you are coming by reserving your spot: here.
